My name is Precious-Jahdeal Joseph, I was born and raised in the northern part of Nigeria to parents who encouraged my love for the art. I have always been fascinated by the process of creating, and throughout my career, I have further looked for different unconventional mediums to express my creativity. I see fashion as a passage to breaking down the barriers between people from different backgrounds and the work of life. I am forever intent on endorsing African prints and fabrics in a way that fosters community among women. I would like to make fashion fun, innovative, and interactive while still doing my part in being conscious of protecting our planet.
Ivory Afrikaan is a womenswear brand situated in Lagos, Nigeria, that focuses on fostering a safe space and community for women by creating objet d’art contemporary pieces that have a sculptural quality about them, made by local artisans, using sustainable resources found on our continent
We’re interested in ensuring that there’s a bit of an “oophm” to every single piece designed while using resources that we are confident will be sustainable and last a lifetime. We want to create an atmosphere where women are able to be their most authentic selves.
