Samiat Salami
I come from a rich legacy of textiles—my
grandmother was a merchant, my father crafted batik, and my mother runs a fashion atelier. After years abroad, I returned to Nigeria, inspired to create Oya Abeo: a vibrant brand rooted in Yoruba traditions, family heritage, and playful prints designed for everyday adventures.

Oya Abeo blends West African vibrancy with coastal elegance, offering hand-stamped, hand-dyed printed textiles inspired by nature and West African lore. We craft our garments and home textiles in Nigeria, prioritizing versatility and sustainability. Our garments and home textiles are hand-dyed and hand-stitched using earth-friendly materials.
One interesting part of our journey at Oya Abeo is how we’ve blended traditional West African techniques with modern design. What started as a small-batch, hand-dyed textiles has grown into a brand known for sustainable, story-rich garments and home goods—each piece crafted in Nigeria and inspired by nature and cultural heritage.
